C10 Archipelago

The Lake Geneva becomes a scenic space with the Archipelago installation, a wide horizontal surface onto which imaginary worlds are projected. Garden islands with misshapen silhouettes enter the scene, floating on Lake Geneva. These graceful, grotesque creatures, made of lush plants and tree stumps, come to life above and below the surface of the water.

These garden islands are made up of old rootstocks and tree stumps: scraps of local forestry given a second chance to bear plant life. The roots of wetland plants cling to them, intertwining to form surreal ensembles supported by floats and prothesis. These strange hybrid creatures offer a theatrical performance critical of the decline of the lake’s flora.
